Carbon Literacy Training
Carbon Literacy is “An awareness of the carbon dioxide
costs and impacts of everyday activities, and the ability
and motivation to reduce emissions, on an individual,
community and organisational basis.”
Learn the most impactful ways to tackle climate change through your creative practice or cultural organisation…
The Carbon Literacy Project initiates and helps deliver Carbon
Literacy in a unique and award-winning way:
Through the certification of people and organisations by their
participation in a brilliant day’s-worth of learning about climate
change, which the participants themselves help devise.
The sustainability consultancy firm Jacobs did a study on the effectiveness of Carbon Literacy training, and discovered there is between a 5% and 15% carbon saving per person for those that undertake the training. A study at the University of Leeds also found that Carbon Literacy is an effective way of instigating lasting change.
Green Arts Oxfordshire Network worked with Sustainable Arts in Leeds and The Carbon Literacy Project to develop a Carbon Literacy Training course catered to Oxfordshire’s arts and cultural sector.
Oxfordshire based arts and culture organisations can now book training sessions for your team, providing internationally recognised Carbon Literate certification to up to 15 members of staff at a time. To find out more, contact us.
