FollyFest

FollyFest is a volunteer-led, music and community arts festival held in Faringdon, Oxfordshire each year.Taking place across 3 days this free festival brings together a wide variety of music, art, comedy and activities from across the community to celebrate our quirky town.

One Planet Abingdon Climate Emergency Centre

At One Planet Abingdon Climate Emergency Centre, we provide a vibrant community place where people can come together during this extraordinary time that we are living in.

To build resilience and community ties we work collaboratively with local groups and individuals, raising awareness, educating the public, local business and other local bodies on the impact and mitigation of, as well as adaptation to, climate, ecological and social challenges.

Our aim is to develop understanding and create a sense of purpose to act on the climate, ecological and social issues that affect us all in order to deliver positive changes within our lives and in the town of Abingdon leading to a sustainable, enjoyable and positive future.

Facing the challenges of climate change & ecological breakdown can be scary & incredibly overwhelming. Recognising what we personally can & should do often seems confusing & difficult. Realising that even as individuals we can make a difference & then being given some of the tools & the knowledge to make new & sustainable choices much more easily, is both empowering & an effective way to support both individuals & the whole community to make the shifts that are required of all of us right now.

Sound Resource

Sound Resource promotes wellbeing through singing and music to adults in Oxfordshire. Since 2012 we have helped people feel the joy and social bonding available from singing and listening to music. We encourage anyone to take part, whatever their age or challenge, ranging from chronic breathing difficulties to the spectrum of people with progressive memory loss and dementia. ‘Moving Music’ is our specialist service reaching people with dementia and memory problems and their carers. Through informal concerts lasting an hour it lights up lives, and lifts people and their carers out of their daily routine in a warm and relaxed setting.

Mandala Theatre Company is a Global Majority led charity, creating theatre with social justice at its heart. We are an Arts Council England funded National Portfolio Organisation based in Oxford, our work connects people and brings them together. We believe that the arts are a force for change and so we aim to create community and to influence social, policy and system change.

Established in 2015, we give voice to those whose stories are not heard and give those stories life by producing work for local, national and international audiences. Mandala is also a place where young people come together to create, train, perform and belong. We employ, train and nurture artists and young people offering pathways into the Creative Industries.
